In short
- Freight Benchmarks sets no cookies.
- The site uses your browser’s storage for two small things: remembering how you arrived, until you close the tab, and remembering that you paused the background video.
- No analytics, advertising or third-party trackers load on this site.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Freight Benchmarks doesn’t set any: not for analytics, not for advertising and not for logins (there are no accounts). Our server doesn’t set any, and no third-party scripts, fonts, videos or widgets load on our pages, so no one else sets any through us.
Browser storage we use
| Name | Where | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
fb_landing, fb_ref | Session storage | Remembers the first page you landed on and the site that referred you, so they can go with a form you submit | Until you close the tab |
fb_utm_source, fb_utm_medium, fb_utm_campaign, fb_utm_term, fb_utm_content | Session storage | Remembers campaign tags in the link you followed, for the same reason | Until you close the tab |
fb_motion | Local storage | Set only if you press “Pause video”, so the background video stays paused on other pages | Until you press “Play video” or clear the site’s data |
This information leaves your browser only if you submit a form, and then only with that submission. The privacy policy explains what happens to it after that.
Server logs
Like every website, our server records basic details of each request (IP address, browser, page and time) to keep the site running and secure. Server logs are not cookies; they are covered in the privacy policy.
Your choices
You can block or clear cookies and site storage in your browser’s settings, and the site works the same without them. Private or incognito windows clear session storage when you close them. We don’t track you across sites, so there’s nothing for Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control to switch off, though we honor both.
If this changes
If we ever add analytics or any other cookies, we will update this statement first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
