On this page
In short
- We design and build the site to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
- Every chart’s figures are also printed as text or in a table, and every data set downloads as plain CSV.
- Background videos are silent and decorative, have a pause button, and don’t play if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Tell us about any barrier and we’ll fix it or get you the information another way.
Our commitment
We want everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use Freight Benchmarks: to read the figures, download the data, request a quote and reach us. We design and build the site to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the widely used standard for accessible websites, as part of our commitment under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
What we’ve done
- Structure. Each page has one main heading, a logical heading order, landmark regions and a “Skip to content” link.
- Keyboard. Every link, button, form field, chart value and question can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Color and contrast. Text and controls meet the AA contrast ratios in both light and dark mode, and color is never the only way information is shown.
- Charts and data. Each chart has a text description, its values are printed on the chart or in a table beside it, and every data set downloads as plain CSV and JSON.
- Forms. Every field has a visible label. Errors and confirmations are announced to screen readers, and nothing has a time limit.
- Motion. Background videos are silent and decorative. Each has a “Pause video” button, they stop when scrolled out of view, and they don’t load at all if your device is set to reduce motion or save data. If you pause one, the others stay paused too.
- Zoom and small screens. Pages reflow to one column on phones and at 400% zoom without losing content, and text sizes follow your browser’s settings.
- Language. We write in plain English and explain freight terms such as demurrage and per diem where they first appear.
How we test
We check pages with the axe-core automated accessibility checker, and by hand with a keyboard and at phone and zoomed-in sizes, whenever the design changes. Automated tools find only some problems, which is why your feedback matters.
Known limitations
- Chart tooltips appear on hover and on keyboard focus. The same values are always printed on the page, so nothing is lost if you don’t use them.
- Photographs used as page backgrounds are decorative and are deliberately hidden from screen readers.
- Pages we link to on other websites, such as government regulations, are outside our control.
Feedback and help
If anything on the site doesn’t work for you, please tell us the page, what you were trying to do and, if you’re comfortable sharing it, the device or assistive technology you use. Use the contact form with the topic “Accessibility” or email hello@centrevilletech.com.
We aim to reply within two business days. On request, we’ll send any figure on the site in another format, such as plain text or a spreadsheet.
About this statement
We prepared this statement on October 22, 2026, when the site was redesigned, and checked it against the live pages the same day. We review it whenever the design changes.
